Small Floating Aquarium Feeding Ring with Suction Cup — 1 Pack
Product description
What’s included and materials:
This product ships as a single feeding ring with an attached hinged rod and one suction cup. The ring and connecting rod are molded from durable, non‑scented plastic with smooth, rounded edges so curious fish won’t be harmed if they bump it.
Dimensions and weight:
Outer ring diameter: 3 inches. Inner ring diameter: 2 inches. Rod length (from ring to suction point): 2.15 inches. Suction cup diameter: 1.22 inches. Net weight: approximately 0.4 oz. It’s sized for small to medium aquaria and for floating feed types.
How it works and where to use it:
Place floating flakes or pellets inside the ring and tether it a short distance from the tank wall using the supplied suction cup. The hinged arm lets the ring tilt and rise with moderate changes in water level so the food remains contained on the surface. It is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater setups and is helpful for bettas, guppies, goldfish, fry, and other surface feeders.
Installation and maintenance:
Attach the suction cup to clean glass or smooth acrylic, then clip the rod into the suction cup bracket. Position the ring roughly 1 inch above the waterline for optimal performance. Clean periodically to remove residue or biofilm; the simple construction makes rinsing and quick scrubs easy.
Performance notes and cautions:
The feeder is intended for floating foods only—sinking pellets or tablets are not appropriate. If the water level drops substantially the ring may tip and allow food to escape, and a few users have reported diminished buoyancy over extended use. For competitive tanks, placing several rings creates separate feeding zones so timid fish can eat undisturbed.
Pros
- Contains floating food in one area
- Simple suction-cup installation
- Lightweight and adjustable to level changes
Cons
- Not suitable for sinking food
- May fail to contain food if water drops a lot
- A few reports of buoyancy loss over time
VerdictThis compact floating feeding ring holds floating food in a single spot, simplifies feeding, and helps prevent particles from being drawn into filters. Installation is simple — attach the included suction cup to the inner glass, position the ring about an inch above the water line, and add floating food. It’s lightweight and self-adjusts to moderate level changes; however, very low water levels ca

Stopped floating after a week
Worked at first but after about a week it no longer floated properly.

Works as advertised
Keeps my betta’s flakes confined to one area so feeding is neater and less wasteful.

Saved food from pump suction
My return pump used to push food into the sump, so I installed this ring to give fish a chance to eat. Installation was straightforward and it performs well in my saltwater setup.

Handy addition
Holds its position, was easy to set up, and the hinges keep it functional with fluctuating water levels. It’s a handy size for feeding or for anchoring a small floating plant.

Great for training a picky betta
This ring made it easy to teach my purple betta (Spartafish) to eat from one spot. The suction cup holds firm and the hinged tether lets the ring follow small level changes. It also prevents the filter flow from scattering food.

Takes some getting used to
Good idea, but you must keep the water at the right height. If it sits too high the food can spill out; too low and it won’t hold anything.

Contains food and doubles as a nest area
It does exactly what it’s meant to do in my Betta tank—keeps pellets from drifting and makes feeding cleaner. The suction cup grips well and the double hinge helps it adapt to level shifts. Our Betta quickly learned to swim to it, and he often builds bubble nests inside the ring. When that happens we feed at the edge; you might consider a second ring if your male builds big nests.

Very useful for fry and microfish
With lots of fry, powdered foods used to scatter everywhere. This ring concentrates feed so fry can find it and feeding is far more efficient. It adjusts to normal level changes but won’t hold if the water drops too low. Overall solid quality and simple to use.
