Spec Ops Folding Retractable Utility Knife — Compact Jobsite Cutter
Product description
This Spec Ops folding retractable utility knife is constructed around an armor-grade aluminum body and designed to survive tough jobsite conditions. The knife folds to 3.5" for pocket carry and includes a springclip for attachment to belts or gear. Its camo-pattern pistol grip and textured surface provide secure hold and control during cutting tasks.
The tool uses standard utility blades (SPEC-K1-BLADE10) and features a push-button mechanism for quick, tool-free blade changes. A quick-release compartment in the handle stores three spare blades for immediate access. The knife also incorporates a built-in slot for slicing straps and plastic bands, plus an integrated glass breaker on the handle for emergency egress situations.
Engineered to be rugged, the aluminum housing has been drop-tested to 100 feet to meet demanding field standards. The blade can be retracted for safer transport or left extended with selectable positions for use and locking. The package ships with three utility blades and is covered by a limited lifetime warranty.

Comfortable, solidly built
Tool itself is nice and comfortable; can be used one-handed though opening may need leverage. Minimal play between parts. It’s assembled with standard hex and torx fasteners if service is ever needed. It ships with three spare blades, not five.

Safe, reliable cutter for daily packing work
I use this for breaking down boxes, snipping zip ties and opening bags. The blade retracts after a cut which feels safer. I used to carry a multi-tool with a driver—this knife lacks that but I keep a small pry tool separately. The blade stash is tight to open, but that keeps blades secure; I use a pry tool to pop it. The glass breaker is just the aluminum handle extending, not carbide, but could help in an emergency. It’s sizable and a bit heavy, yet very comfortable in use.

Compact when folded, robust when open
Works well as both a compact folder and a larger handle. It’s a bit thick and heavy but very sturdy. You can leave it folded and retract the blade for quick access, or set the blade position and fold it accordingly. The handle holds three spare blades. I shaved the window breaker down for safer package opening.

Stopped functioning after a short time
I picked this as a replacement for an old knife but regret it. After the return window closed, the blade wouldn’t extend more than a few millimeters. The blade swap button had sunk in and I spent 30–45 minutes trying to realign it with no luck. I’ll need to replace it.

Good build and functional design
Excellent composition and solid assembly. Not ultra-compact — designed for heavy use. Blade holder is metal while the handle uses durable plastic with a rubberized grip area. Spare blades store safely under the handle cover; the camo color scheme looks great.

Performed well until a failure
Loved the look and function at first, but after about a month the rear button that retracts the blade snapped off. If you buy one, handle it with care.

Useful, durable and well made
A bit chunky but I like durable tools. It even works as a bottle opener at times. Replacement blades are stored under a black cap in the handle. The semi-military styling and U.S. import give it a premium feel.
