Mechanical Metronome (Standard Black) — Universal Tempo Keeper
Product description
This package contains a single wind-up mechanical metronome and basic documentation. The unit is protected in foam and film for shipping.
The internal movement combines high-hardness plastic components with metal parts to provide a precise, long-lasting pendulum action. The exterior is finished in a standard black (other colors available) and sized to sit on a music stand or piano top.
Tempo is adjustable from 40 to 208 beats per minute via the sliding weight on the pendulum. The mechanism produces an audible tick-tock and can be set to include a heavy bell accent to mark the first beat of a measure. Bell settings include off or 2, 3, 4, and 6 accents to suit different time signatures.
Designed for beginners and children as well as experienced musicians, the metronome is straightforward to wind and use. It’s suitable for practice with piano, violin, guitar, drums and other instruments where a consistent tempo reference is needed.
Pros
- Durable plastic and metal movement
- Wide tempo range (40–208 BPM)
- Optional bell accents for measure marking
Cons
- No volume control for the mechanical tick
- Not made from solid wood
- Bell can be loud for some users
VerdictA reliable, old-school mechanical metronome that offers steady, audible beats and an optional bell accent for measure starts. Its hardened plastic and metal movement gives consistent timing and long service life. Simple to operate, portable, and available in several finishes, it’s a great choice for students and casual players who prefer the tactile, acoustic feel of a traditional metronome over d

Top-notch build and reliable timing
Very well made — the workmanship and movement rival higher-end options I’ve tried. Comes well packed with protective foam and a thin film over the casing. Strongly recommended.

Performs as expected.

Simple, effective tempo trainer
Easy to use and more musical-sounding than my digital unit. The mechanical beat plus optional bell has helped my timing. If you want it quieter, close it in a clear box when practicing.

Sturdy, traditional metronome that lasts
Perfect for learners; the swinging arm helps internalize rhythm. The mechanical tick is pleasant compared to electronic beeps. Has a bell feature that you can enable for measure starts. Survived drops and heavy use without issue.

Good value for a mechanical unit
Performs well for the price. The slowest speeds can be a bit uneven and there’s no way to soften the tick, but otherwise a solid buy. Not real wood, but looks fine.
