Nintendo Switch Joy‑Con Grip Kit — Ergonomic Anti‑Slip Handles
Product description
Compatibility and contents: This kit works with the latest Switch 2 (2025) Joy‑Con and is also compatible with earlier Joy‑Con models from the original Switch (2017) and the OLED model (2021). The package includes two ergonomic grip shells plus two wrist straps designed to secure single Joy‑Con units when needed.
Materials and build: The grips are molded from a durable, wear‑resistant rubber with a matte, non‑slip surface to improve hold and limit hand perspiration during intense gameplay. Inside each shell are four small rubber pads that keep the Joy‑Con from sliding and help absorb minor shocks and scratches.
Buttons and fit: An upgraded, slightly longer pin assembly makes pressing the SL and SR inputs easier and more reliable, so button presses register smoothly. The grips preserve the original button feel while adding comfortable bulk, so the controls remain responsive but easier to handle.
How to install: The snap‑in construction allows quick attachment and removal. For Switch 2 Joy‑Con, slide the controller straight into the grip slot until it clicks. For original Joy‑Con units, first thread the Joy‑Con through the supplied wrist strap, then seat the Joy‑Con into the grip from top to bottom. The two included straps can be fastened to secure one‑piece Joy‑Con setups.
Ergonomics and use cases: The design aims to relieve hand strain and reduce fatigue by offering a handier, more conventional controller silhouette. The grips feel closer to a standard gamepad, making longer sessions—racing, fighters, or party games—more comfortable for adults and children alike.
Pros
- Comfortable, ergonomic shape reduces hand fatigue
- Durable, matte rubber resists wear and slipping
- Includes wrist straps for single Joy‑Con setups
Cons
- May feel small for very large hands
- Requires careful seating to avoid slight lateral play
- Not a full replacement for two‑handed controllers
VerdictThese grips convert single Joy‑Con controllers into a more traditional, comfortable layout without hiding the original buttons’ tactile feel. The soft, matte rubber resists wear and reduces hand sweat while the longer trigger pins and internal pads improve button registration and stability. They’re especially useful for extended sessions and party play when you want a familiar controller shape wit

Makes single Joy‑Con play practical
Honestly, I can’t imagine using a lone Joy‑Con without something like this — a real improvement.

Improves play for kids
Simple idea but it makes some games much easier for my children. They used to drop the remotes a lot; this adds a secure, ergonomic feel and made family sessions smoother.

Handy way to hold single Joy‑Cons
These grips hold the Joy‑Cons securely and add useful grip. Small buttons are easier to press and they feel stable in hand. We enjoy using them.

Great overall but mind the alignment
Excellent accessory and worth the cost. With Switch 2 Joy‑Cons you must seat them precisely or a tiny side‑to‑side wobble can appear. Two little tabs interact with the sensor area and can cause a pivot if not aligned. Otherwise they’re very comfy and the shoulder buttons are just what I hoped for.

Highly recommended for long sessions
I use these with my Switch 2 Joy‑Cons and they’re very comfortable for extended play. My hands don’t cramp like when holding only the Joy‑Cons, and the surface is soft and pleasant. I’d buy them again.

Sleek, compact and attractive
Sleek appearance with a slightly glossy‑matte finish that isn’t slippery. There are longer‑handled grips if you want more bulk, but these look nicer and are easy to carry. Trigger buttons are comfy and they work with both Switch 1 and 2 Joy‑Cons.

Comfortable, stylish, and well made
They make sideways play much more pleasant. The right grip sits a bit differently because of joystick placement, so your thumb may stretch a little. The plastic/rubber blend feels smooth and soft, not cheap. Visually they’re subtle and look quite neat when fitted.

Solid build, family friendly
Sturdy option for families who bought extra Joy‑Cons instead of separate controllers. Buttons stay clicky despite the added housing. The grips suit smaller hands better, which is perfect for kids; very good for the price compared with other options we tried.

Small but effective
A little smaller than I expected in hand, yet they still provide a good grip.
