Monopoly: A Court of Thorns and Roses Edition — Board Game for Adults
Product description
This officially licensed Monopoly: A Court of Thorns and Roses Edition brings the world of Prythian to the familiar property-trading game format. The game includes a foldable game board, a set of circular currency called marks, two renamed card decks—Suriel’s Truths and the Book of Breathings—six metal-look playing tokens, cardboard Manors and Palaces (which replace houses and hotels), and a plastic insert to hold the components.
The six tokens are themed to the series: Illyrian Wings, a Paint Palette, Feyre’s Bow, The Cauldron, the Truth-Teller Knife, and the Night Court Mountains. The board showcases locations from across the Seven Courts; players move around the board to claim properties, transport spaces, and special powers to help fend off the King of Hybern. Instead of paper money, the game uses circular marks as currency, and players add Manors or Palaces to completed sets of locations to increase their influence.
Packaging is styled like a collectible book with a removable dust-jacket design and an internal plastic tray that has communal storage slots for the buildings, money, and tokens. The board folds into thirds so it fits inside the book-like case for storage. The edition pulls material and references from the first three books in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series and features a foreword by the author, making it a thematic choice for fans and collectors.

Capitalism, but Make It Ironic
Totally peak late-stage capitalism.

Pretty Look, Questionable Build
The artwork and gold-toned tokens are lovely, and the manors/palaces look neat. However, the outer dust-jacket and inner cardboard supports feel flimsy, and the book-style spine showed scuffing right out of the box. The board is folded in thirds to fit the case, which may cause visible creases over time. Currency is circular marks and the cards are rebranded as Suriel’s Truths and the Book of Breathings. Everything stores in a single plastic tray with shared slots for buildings, money, and pieces. This will appeal most to hardcore fans rather than players seeking premium components.

Perfect Mashup for Fans of the Books and the Game
If you love both the ACOTAR novels and Monopoly, this edition is a delightful crossover. It preserves the core Monopoly gameplay while weaving in series-specific details that make each space, token, and card feel intentional rather than just decorative. Official licensing matters here—themed touches go beyond a simple box art swap, giving the set its own personality. With room for 2–6 players and an adult 17+ recommendation, it suits friend groups, couples, or book-club gatherings. The book-like case also makes it easy to display when not in use, which is appealing to collectors of special editions.

Well-Presented and Enjoyable
I’ve read the books and was excited to find a themed Monopoly. The book-shaped case and attention to detail impressed me, and the golden-style tokens are a nice touch. The board folds small for storage but appears sturdy enough for repeated play. All parts are included and the game plays smoothly. Overall, it exceeded my expectations—beautiful, entertaining, and satisfying for adult fans.
