1976-S Bicentennial Clad 6-Coin Proof Set
Product description
This offering is the official six-coin 1976 proof set. The package contains six proof strikes: a Lincoln cent, a Jefferson nickel, a clad Washington quarter, a clad Kennedy half dollar and a clad Eisenhower dollar. Each coin bears the special dual dates and the distinctive one-year-only reverse designs created for the nation’s bicentennial celebration.
The coins are struck in the typical proof finishes for the era. The cent and nickel are produced in their standard metallic compositions for 1976, while the quarter, half and dollar are clad pieces, giving them the layered appearance and weight consistent with contemporary proof issues. These pieces were produced at the San Francisco facility and carry the “S” mint mark.
Condition is reported as Choice Proof (Ch Proof), indicating attractive surfaces, sharp strikes, and the superior mirroring expected of proof strikes from this period. The set arrives ready for display or storage and is suitable for collectors assembling a bicentennial or general U.S. proof type set.
Littleton Coin Company — in business since 1945 — handles collector coins with a focus on numismatic variety and service.
