Spec Ops Tools 3 lb Drilling/Crack Hammer — Shock-Absorbing Demolition Sledge
Product description
The Spec Ops Tools 3 lb Drilling Hammer is supplied as a ready-to-use demolition tool with a removable Santoprene mallet cap included for non-marring tapping and quieter impacts. The head uses Spec Ops' RPG (Refined Power Geometry) profile to focus striking energy for effective blows in tight or demanding striking work.
A composite overstrike armor sleeve is integrated to protect the handle from off-target hits, which the manufacturer rates as doubling the handle’s resistance to damage compared with an unprotected shaft. The handle ends in a rubber butt cap that improves the tool’s life and provides a surface for controlled, precise strikes.
The grip is a bi-material, shock-absorbing design that dampens vibration and reduces user fatigue during prolonged use. The tool is sized at 3 pounds, making it a compact, mobile sledge option for demolition, driving rebar, striking masonry, and other heavy striking tasks.
For tethering on elevated jobs, the handle is compatible with SRS retention lanyards. Spec Ops backs this hammer with a limited lifetime warranty and donates 3% of sales to veteran and first responder causes.

VerdictThis 3 lb drilling/crack hammer blends concentrated striking force with user-focused dampening and protection. The dual-material shock-absorbing handle noticeably cuts vibration and keeps arms fresher over extended use. Composite overstrike armor guards

Handles rebar well
Solid little hammer. Made driving 18" rebar sections straightforward and reliable.

Handy baby sledge for tight spots
Bought it because the face geometry lets me work in confined areas. Flat sides are useful and it performs as expected.

Dethroned my old DeWalt
This hammer quickly became my favorite. The grip is comfortable and the 3 lb swing is right for light demolition tasks. Feels well made; time will tell on durability but so far I’m impressed.

Good swing but softer face
Well balanced and pleasant to use. The face dents easier than harder drilling hammers I’ve owned.
