Hollow Wall Anchor Kit — Zinc-Plated Molly Bolts with Screws (30 pcs)
Product description
Material and build: These hollow wall anchors are formed from galvanized carbon steel with a zinc finish to resist corrosion while remaining lightweight. The metal construction gives them greater strength and durability compared with plastic anchors.
Performance and capacity: The anchors are expandable; when set, the sleeve spreads behind the wall to create a holding grip. Properly installed, these molly bolts can handle moderate loads and are preferable to regular plastic anchors for heavier items.
Installation overview: Start by drilling a pilot hole sized for the anchor, then drive the anchor sleeve into the wall flush with the surface. Back the screw out slightly as instructed, then pull the screw to pull the sleeve tight and force the expansion until the anchor locks in place.
Where to use: Suitable for drywall, plaster, hollow block, and tile surfaces, these anchors are commonly used to mount curtain rods, light fixtures, brackets, cabinets, picture frames and coat hooks. They are useful in thin-wall applications such as RV interiors and hollow doors.
What’s in the kit: The set contains 30 pieces total — 10× M4 × 1-1/4" anchors, 10× M6 × 2" anchors and 10× M8 × 2-1/2" anchors — each supplied with matching screws so you have sizes for different wall thicknesses and hanging needs.
Pros
- Galvanized carbon steel construction for durability
- Expandable sleeves give stronger hold than plastic anchors
- Three sizes included to fit varying wall depths
Cons
- Best results require pre-drilling and proper installation tool
- Can be hard to tighten with a standard Phillips driver
- May spin or grip poorly in very soft or damaged drywall
VerdictSturdy, expandable molly anchors that offer better load capacity than plastic plugs and come in three common sizes for varying wall depths. They’re made from galvanized carbon steel and perform well on thin or hollow surfaces like RV walls and pantry doors. Some users needed an installation driver or alternative screw head to get sufficient torque, and a few reported spinning on very soft substrat

Perfect for camper interiors
Did exactly what I needed on RV walls.

Great performance with the right tool
You’ll want the recommended installation driver, but once I had it these anchors worked extremely well. I bought multiple lengths to match different wall thicknesses and they performed consistently.

Too tiny for my needs
Far smaller than expected. Not suitable for my project—felt like a waste.

Good fit for shallow drywall gaps
Our walls have a thin cavity and standard anchors were too long. These shorter molly bolts fit the shallow space and allowed us to hang heavier pieces like floating shelves in the bathroom with confidence.

Ideal for attaching baskets to a door
These anchors held the baskets on my pantry door without issue. Solidly made and much stronger than the plastic plugs I had been using. Overkill for light items but perfect for a secure mount.

Does the job
Simple and effective for basic hanging tasks.

Works well with foam-backed walls
Mounted fixtures on a thin RV wall with foam insulation behind it and the anchors held up nicely.

Poor grip, spins during install
I had a bad batch that just turned in the hole and wouldn’t tension. No teeth under the flange to bite and no way to hold the sleeve while tightening. Ended up discarding them after several tries.

Stiff sleeve needs stronger driver
The short anchors are quite rigid. A Phillips driver didn’t give enough torque, but swapping to a hex screw and Allen driver solved it. The Phillips screws held the shelf after that, though it cost an extra trip to a local hardware store.
