This includes practical luxuries like a Dyson hairdryer conveniently located in the dressing room, and state-of-the-art Sonos speakers, perfect for setting an “Ibiza style” mood as we slid back the huge glass doors to enjoy a sunset gin on the terrace. Such thoughtful provisions underscore a commitment to guest satisfaction and a deep understanding of what makes a luxury stay truly memorable.

This includes a fantastic outdoor social area complete with an inviting fireplace and a luxurious hot tub – perfect for unwinding under the Cornish sky. Despite the allure of staying put, we did venture out to explore some of Cornwall’s renowned beauty. We enjoyed exhilarating trips to the beaches at Perranporth and Crantock, and took a delightful walk around the charming cove at St Agnes, where we popped into the Finisterre store and indulged in some delicious cinnamon buns. Another highlight was a wonderful visit to the Lost Gardens of Heligan, which proved to be even more enchanting and magical than I had ever imagined, leaving me with a beautiful tree fern and a million cherished photographs.

However, for the majority of our time, we found ourselves simply luxuriating in the beautiful calm and expansive space that The Meadows so generously offered. We relaxed on the huge, incredibly comfortable sofas—one each, perfectly spaced for individual serenity—gazing out at the peaceful views, and observing a pair of diligent wagtails busily constructing their nest in the woodpile just outside. These moments of quiet observation and gentle appreciation for nature truly embodied the essence of our break.

Our days flowed seamlessly between reading, enjoying delicious meals, taking leisurely dog walks with Albert, listening to music, and simply reconnecting with nature while watching the world gently pass by. We indulged in lazy afternoon naps, enjoyed early evening soaks in the luxurious hot tub, and witnessed truly glorious sunsets painting the Cornish sky. Aside from an occasional spell of characteristic Cornish mizzle, we were blessed with excellent weather for the majority of our stay. Albert, our whippet, absolutely adored his time at The Meadows, quickly making himself at home and relishing the freedom and space. I suspect he was even more reluctant to leave than we were.
