4-in-1 Digital Soil Tester — Moisture, pH, Temp & Light Meter
Product description
Overview: This handheld kit combines four sensors into a single instrument to monitor soil moisture, pH level, soil temperature and light intensity. The unit is supplied as the tester with an integrated metal probe and a control head. Batteries are not included.
Power and display: The meter is powered by four AAA 1.5V cells (not supplied). A large LCD with white backlight displays numeric values and simple icons for quick interpretation; the unit indicates low battery when power runs low.
Probe and dimensions: The metal probe extends roughly 10 cm (about 4 inches) from the body, long enough to sample the root zone of many houseplants and garden containers. The head pivots up to 45° so you can angle the screen for comfortable reading without bending over.
How to use: Insert the probe about 10 cm into soil and wait roughly 10 seconds for the sensors to stabilise, then read the displayed values. For reliable soil moisture and pH results, take measurements from at least five spots in the planting area and average the readings. The light sensor measures ambient or grow‑light intensity to help assess if plants receive sufficient illumination.
Safety and care: Do not use the probe to test liquids directly. Avoid forcing the probe into very hard, dry soil; moisten the test area and wait about 10 minutes before inserting to prevent damaging the rod. Keep the electronic head away from direct water exposure to prevent shorting. This device is intended for both indoor and outdoor use in gardens, pots, succulents and small farms.
Service: The manufacturer provides customer support for product issues; contact them if the device behaves unexpectedly.
Pros
- Four parameters in one handheld unit
- Bright backlit LCD with adjustable viewing angle
- Quick, digital readings suitable for indoor and outdoor use
Cons
- Electronics sensitive to water — not waterproof
- Probe can be bent or scratched if handled roughly
- Not suitable for measuring liquids directly
VerdictThis 4‑in‑1 handheld soil tester gives quick, easy-to-read digital readings for moisture, pH, temperature and light. The large backlit screen and tilt head make checks simple, and the 10 cm probe reaches typical pot and garden depths. It’s a practical tool for hobby gardeners and small-scale growers, though the electronics should be kept dry and the probe handled with care.

Accurate and simple
Seems accurate, straightforward to use, and the digital readout is a nice upgrade over analogue meters.

Exactly what I wanted
Clear percentage moisture readout, bright screen and the rotating head make readings easy while kneeling. Extra features like light and temperature are useful even if I don't use them often.

Handy for indoor pots
I have many houseplants and this helps decide when to water. It powers up quickly, defaults sensibly when removed, and auto-shuts to save battery. Just wait a few seconds between checks and it performs well.

Game-changer for precise plant care
This tester removed much of the guesswork for my indoor houseplants and outdoor tomatoes. Probe tech is fast, the backlit screen is handy, and the 45° head saves my back when checking beds. The light sensor also helps verify grow light output—very useful.

Works well, but keep it dry
I've used mine nearly two years with good results. My single complaint is the electronics aren’t well sealed — splash water can get inside and cause intermittent problems. Drying it out usually restores function, but better waterproofing would be welcome.

Most dependable meter I've used
I grow herbs and veg indoors and tried several meters. This one gives the clearest moisture and pH figures of any I've owned. The lit display is easy to read under foliage and the tilt screen helps when checking plants. You do need to understand your plants’ needs to act on the numbers, but the device itself is reliable.

Great for beginners, be gentle
As a new plant parent this has prevented many overwatering mistakes. The unit is a bit large and the probe feels delicate — avoid hitting stones in small pots to prevent scratches.

Mixed results — solid for moisture and temp
Moisture readings are consistent and easy to interpret, and the temperature function has been helpful for managing soil heat. The backlit display is great for evening checks. pH readings are less certain in my trials, so I’m still comparing them to other methods.

Detailed manual, useful lux reading
Came with a clear manual explaining functions. It needs four AAA batteries so the head is a bit top‑heavy, but the lux meter is handy for checking grow lights. Fast moisture checks make inspecting many plants manageable.

Better than analog dials
Unlike needle-driven meters, this gives digital values rather than vague ranges. It uses battery power to drive the sensors and after a short break-in the readings matched other instruments I trust. The digital output makes it easier to track changes over time.
