Polymaker ABS Filament — White, 1.75mm (3kg) Heat-Resistant
Product description
High-strength, heat-resistant ABS — This filament is designed to produce mechanically robust prints with strong impact resistance and elevated temperature tolerance. The material has a Vicat softening temperature of 104°C, making it suitable for parts exposed to mechanical stress and higher ambient heat.
Low-odor bulk-polymerized resin — Manufactured from a specialty bulk-polymerized ABS with reduced volatile components, this formulation cuts down on the typical smell of ABS while retaining expected strength and toughness.
Engineered for practical use — Recommended for functional prototypes, mechanical components, robotics, jigs, fixtures and replacement parts. Its combination of impact resistance, heat resistance and machinability makes it a versatile choice for engineering and hands-on applications.
Recommended print settings — For consistent results set the nozzle between 245–265°C and the bed at 90–100°C. Disable part cooling fans and consider an enclosed printing chamber to reduce warping, especially when building larger items.
Spool and storage — Supplied on a 3kg 1.75mm spool that arrives vacuum-sealed with a desiccant packet to limit moisture pickup. If the filament absorbs moisture, dry it at 70°C for roughly 6 hours before printing to restore reliable extrusion.
Pros
- High strength and impact resistance suitable for functional parts
- Formulated for reduced odor compared with standard ABS
- Large 3kg spool reduces spool changes and waste
Cons
- Requires high nozzle and bed temperatures
- Needs an enclosure or careful setup to minimize warping
- Large spool may need an external cradle or different holder
VerdictA durable, low-odor ABS formulated for functional and mechanical prints. Works well for prototypes, tools and replacement parts when printed with higher nozzle temperatures and an enclosed build area. The large 3kg spool is efficient for heavy users but requires appropriate spool handling and setup.

Big spools are worth it if you can handle them
If your setup accepts 3kg reels they save time and waste—Polymaker’s material quality is consistently good.

Less spool swapping and less waste
Buying 3kg avoids changing reels mid-print and reduces leftover filament waste from small spools.

Solid material but not premium-value for me
Prints reliably. I find it comparable to other affordable brands and wouldn’t pay extra for it myself.

Occasional poorly wound reels
Most deliveries are fine, but sometimes a spool arrives poorly wound with overlapping strands that ruined a 12-hour print.

Disappointing 3kg spool build
After years of flawless 1kg spools, this larger reel’s cardboard hub broke on the spindle. Coils unspooled, tangled and caused a failed print that also damaged my Bowden tube.

Needs a cradle and higher temperatures to shine
This reel didn’t fit my enclosure, so I used an external carrier and fed it via an empty spool. After raising nozzle to ~260°C per the label, prints improved and ran well at 70mm/s.

Good filament but missing remaining-amount markers
Material prints well, but the spool lacks markings to show how much filament is left, which would be useful.

Dependable support and documentation
Manufacturer provides thorough printing guidance and their social channels are responsive and helpful when issues come up.

Great prints, mysterious spool failure
Initial results were excellent. During a long overnight print the filament snapped at the spool and the end appeared fused to the roll, causing a failure. I’ll probably stick to smaller spools for now.
