AU1210MA 12-Sheet Micro-Cut Paper / CD / Credit Card Shredder — Professional
Product description
The AU1210MA is a 12-sheet micro-cut shredder built to destroy documents, CDs/DVDs and credit cards. It cuts paper into tiny particles measuring roughly 5/32" by 15/32" (security level P-4) and accepts credit cards and optical discs in its feed. The throat width measures 8.7 inches, allowing standard office paper stacks and media to be fed easily.
Designed for extended use, the motor supports up to 60 minutes of continuous operation before requiring cooldown. To help prevent interruptions, the unit includes an anti-jam automatic reverse feature that clears misfeeds and an ultra-quiet cutting mechanism for less disruption in shared spaces. The shredder rides on casters so you can move it where needed.
Collected waste drops into a 5.0‑gallon pullout bin. The bin assembly features LED indicators to show standby, overheating, bin-full, overload and door-open conditions. Typical unit dimensions are 14.41" W x 11.02" L x 19.33" H, with a net weight around 22.4 pounds and a shipping weight near 25.73 pounds. The package includes the shredder unit with built-in blades, the 5.0‑gallon pullout bin insert on wheels, and caster-mounted base for mobility.
Pros
- True micro-cut security for paper and media
- 60 minutes of continuous run time

VerdictA dependable mid-size micro-cut shredder engineered for home offices and small businesses. It reliably reduces paper, optical media and cards to small, hard-to-reconstruct pieces (P-4), runs continuously for long intervals, and includes useful anti-jam and LED status features. Best for users who need steady throughput without industrial bulk.

Good unit — warranty replacement was handled well
Update 9/27/2026: The replacement unit works well. The shredder micro-cuts up to a dozen pages, including cards, and feels right for an office corner. It produces small strips (about 1/2" x 3/16" per the owner observation), includes anti-jam reverse and a wheeled 5-gallon bin. Customer service replaced my first unit under warranty without extra charge.

Solid value and efficient
Compared prices locally and this model offered the best overall value. The cross-cutting holds more in the bin and makes reconstruction difficult. It runs quietly and consistently — great for routine office use.

Excellent performance and very quiet
This shredder gobbles paper, light cardboard, credit cards and discs into tiny micro-cut pieces. It runs quietly, feels solid and the wheels make it easy to move. My only gripe is the feed slot could be a bit wider, but once you adapt it's a great, durable unit. Highly recommended for general office use.

Very quiet, attractive design
Looks sharp and performed well during my test run of 50–60 sheets. It's much quieter than older shredders. Minor issues: the power switch plastic feels thin and the markings on the unit could be easier to read. Overall I expect years of service.

Eats a lot of paper; needs occasional maintenance
This machine will process boxes of paperwork with no trouble. Bin emptying is straightforward though securing a plastic bag takes a bit of fiddling. It pauses when overheating and resumes after a short cooldown. Use lubricant sheets periodically. It handles cards and CDs, and I keep loads to about 10–12 sheets to maintain speed.

Handles stacks well — I prefer smaller batches
I inherited a huge amount of paperwork and this shredder has been efficient and low-noise. While it will take 12 sheets, I usually feed fewer at a time to avoid stressing it. The pullout bin flexes a bit and could be sturdier, but the micro-cut output is fine for home or small office shredding.

Check voltage compatibility before plugging in
Be careful with regional power standards — the unit I received was not compatible with my local outlet and blew when connected to the wrong voltage. Verify your power requirements to avoid damaging the machine.

Exactly what I needed
A bit pricier than some brands, but it delivers on continuous shredding so I can finish sessions much faster without waiting for cool-downs. Better than the smaller, cheaper models I've owned — satisfied with this purchase.

Outlasted my patience during a marathon shredding session
I bought this for annual record purges and wanted a long-running machine. I tested it and shredded continuously for hours before stopping — the unit kept going smoothly. It handled folders, staples and clips without trouble, though I had to empty the bin every 15–20 minutes during heavy use.

Impressive industrial-grade shredding
Industrial-feel build that reduces documents, DVDs and cards into very small squares. Produces a little paper dust and is not silent, but the nearly hour-long continuous run capability makes it worthwhile.
