E7018 Premium Stick Electrodes — 60 lb (6×10 lb) 1/8" Rods
Product description
This set contains six boxes, each weighing ten pounds, for a combined weight of sixty pounds of E7018 premium arc stick electrodes. The rods are offered in 1/8", 3/32", and 5/32" diameters and are 14 inches long. Manufactured to meet the AWS A5.1 E7018 (ASME/SFA-A5.1) specification, they are engineered for reliable performance in demanding welding tasks.
These electrodes are intended for direct current electrode positive (DCEP) welding with a suggested amperage window of 100–140 A for the 1/8" size. Their coating and chemistry make them suitable for welding hardenable steels, cold-rolled steels, and steels containing elevated sulfur or selenium. Designed for all-position welding — flat, vertical, uphill, and overhead — they are often chosen for jobs where stress relief is impractical. Users can expect a steady arc, minimal spatter, and clean deposits that perform well in vertical and overhead applications.
Pros
- All-position welding capability
- Smooth arc with low spatter
- Meets AWS A5.1 E7018 specification
Cons
- Requires DCEP and correct amperage
- Not intended for stainless or non-ferrous metals
- Must be stored dry to avoid hydrogen pickup
VerdictA dependable, heavy-duty supply of E7018 stick welding rods designed for all-position work on hardenable and cold-rolled steels. The six-box pack gives shops and fabricators a generous 60 lb reserve; rods produce a smooth arc with low spatter and are suitable where stress relief can’t be performed. Best when used with DCEP at the recommended amperage range.
